At Axis, We Are Child Centred
Every decision we make starts with the child – their needs, their voice, their future.

Every decision we make starts with the child – their needs, their voice, their future.

We respond to everyone with care, flexibility and understanding, tailoring support to meet their individual needs.

Trust, respect and honesty are the foundation of everything we do – with students, families and each other.

We challenge convention, embrace innovation and aim to create a school experience that truly transforms lives.
“We do things differently here!” This simple phrase captures the heart of our philosophy at Axis. We are proud to be an SEN Free School, established in 2020 to support children and young people aged 5–18 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs across Cheshire East.
At Axis, we believe in transforming lives. Our moral purpose is clear and unwavering: to make a profound and lasting difference in the lives of our students. Every child’s journey is unique, and we are committed to providing a nurturing, adaptive and empowering environment where each individual can thrive, feel valued and achieve their full potential.
Our curriculum is varied, inspiring and tailored to meet the needs of our learners. Alongside academic subjects, we place a strong emphasis on vocational learning and well-being, ensuring that students are equipped with the skills they need to succeed in modern Britain. We take a holistic approach, supporting both education and emotional development, helping pupils to understand and manage their own needs with targeted support and guidance.
We are proud to offer a range of environments designed to develop the whole child—from calm and sensory rooms to tranquil learning spaces and outdoor areas. Our trauma-informed approach places emotional well-being at the foundation of all learning. Through one-to-one support, group interventions and integrated classroom practices, our dedicated team helps students build resilience, self-awareness and confidence.
At Axis, we work collaboratively with families, carers and a wide range of multi-agency professionals to ensure that every child’s needs are met. Our staff are empathetic, patient and deeply committed to understanding and addressing the challenges our students face. We strive to create a safe, secure and motivating atmosphere where children feel supported and inspired to attend every day.
Our core values—being child-centred, adaptive to need, and authentic in our relationships—guide every decision we make. Trust, respect and open communication are the cornerstones of our community, and we are proud to work in partnership with those who share our vision.
It is with great pride that I welcome you to Axis. We are not just a school—we are a place of transformation, growth and hope. I am honoured to lead this exceptional community and excited to be part of each student’s journey.
Warm regards,
Mr Dan Blundred
