Curriculum Intent:
At the Axis Academy, our English curriculum is designed to support our diverse community of students and develop empathy through authenticity, respect, excellence, achievement, and collaboration. We empower students with SEMH needs to express themselves through English, engaging with diverse texts, develop critical thinking through debate and discussion, life skills, and a love of reading. From classic texts to modern plays and poetry, we aim to equip students with the confidence and skills to navigate life and support their future choices within the community. Cross curricular links such as Victorian England and the ethics of nature VS nurture broaden students understanding of the world around them. Through a supportive environment, we ensure every learner thrives academically and personally, preparing them for their next chapter.
