What is humanities?
Humanities is a group of subjects that explores people, culture, and society. The humanities subjects help students understand how humans think, communicate, create, and live together.
Curriculum Intent:
At the Axis Academy, our humanities curriculum nurtures curiosity, confidence, and emotional well-being whilst providing an environment which encourages enquiry – based learning about the modern world and the past. We intend students to become more intellectually curious and develop as lifelong learners. Students can become Global Citizens with a good understanding of the world around them, helping them to understand existing social, political and economic conditions both in the Past and Present. The unique concepts in Humanities allow learners to construct arguments, analyse evidence and to question human motivation with skill and confidence. We create a safe, engaging environment where students explore history, geography, and worldviews in meaningful ways.
